A fresh outlook
for your workplace.
Reception areas, meeting rooms, corridors and open-plan spaces. Office painting is at the heart of Mode Decorating’s commercial work.
A workplace project needs more than a colour choice. Tell Eric how the building is used, which rooms need attention and when access is possible. Preparation, furniture protection and the sequence of work can then be discussed together.
Photos from Mode Decorating projects will be added here.
A considered approach, start to finish.
A clear scope. Proper preparation. A plan for the space you use.
Visit & quote
Tell us your plans. The surfaces, access and preparation are assessed so the quote reflects the actual work.
Prepare & protect
Agree what needs moving and protecting. Filling, sanding and priming are considered according to the surface.
Paint with purpose
Brush, roller, airless or HVLP. The application method is chosen to suit the job, not as a one-size-fits-all answer.
Tidy & sign off
The work area is tidied and the completed scope reviewed with you, with the agreed finish in mind.
Mode Decorating is owned by Eric Purnell and based in Swanley. Commercial and domestic projects include interior and exterior painting, traditional brush and roller work, wallpapering and specialist spray application.
An office manager may need to plan around a working team. A homeowner may want to keep access to the rooms used every day. Each brief begins with the surfaces, the condition and the practical arrangement, rather than a standard package.

The finish starts
with the surface.
Repainting can change the feel of a space, but the existing condition determines what needs to happen first. Loose paint, uneven repairs and contamination should be identified before a new coating is chosen. A spray gun does not remove that preparation, and traditional application still needs a sound base.
For larger walls and ceilings, airless spraying may be practical when access and masking allow. HVLP is a different technique for fine work on trim, woodwork, kitchens and garden furniture. In a furnished room or a small isolated area, a brush and roller can be the more sensible arrangement.
Spraying versus brush & rollerBring the details.
We’ll discuss the options.
Send the property postcode and a description of the rooms or items involved. Include ceilings, doors and trim if they are part of the project. Photos can help show the overall layout and any areas where the existing finish needs attention.
For commercial work, mention operating hours, occupancy and restrictions on access. Evening or weekend arrangements can be discussed for the particular job. For a home, explain which spaces need to remain available and whether the colour is staying similar or changing substantially.
The decorating guides explore cost drivers, office timelines and common causes of peeling paint. They do not publish sample prices or promise standard durations: the appropriate quote needs to reflect your actual property.
